Rob and Heather Blanks MOZAMBIQUE

One of the new cultural aspects we are learning is the significance of physical contact within relationships here in Mozambique.  Specifically, I don’t think we have ever seen husbands and wives holding hands publicly, but men holding hands is common.  Holding hands between men indicates relational intimacy, communicating warmth and sincerity within the relationship.  As an American, it is quite a new thing for me (Rob) to hold a man’s hand!
